St Anne’s is the home of choice for the brightest and most ambitious students, including those from underrepresented groups.
St Anne’s is one of Oxford’s largest colleges, with over 800 students. Our Fellows’ world leading research ranges across the arts, humanities, social sciences, mathematics, and physical, life and medical sciences.
Our diverse, inclusive community extends around the globe through our alumnae, who build on their experiences here to change the world for the better.
Situated within 5 acres of tranquil leafy grounds, St Anne’s enjoys a unique atmosphere in which to hold any conference, dinner or special event.
On 8 March, what would’ve been his son’s 4th birthday, St Anne’s alumnus Hamish Magoffin (2010) is running in Central Park to raise awareness about Perinatal Mental Health (“PMH”) and fundraise for his charity Pranaiya & Arthur Magoffin Foundation (“PAM Foundation”), named after his late wife — an alumna of St Hugh’s — and her son.
Postpartum Depression (“PPD”) affects up to 1-in-6 new mothers, but society still lacks a general awareness of this disorder and there is a large stigma around the world associated with it and broader mental health issues.
Hamish established PAM Foundation with three pillars: I) Awareness & Education, II) Care, and III) Research, and funds raised through the newly established 501c3 will go towards his ongoing efforts to address these pillars, not just in the US but also globally.
The “Central Park Loop Challenge” involves running as many laps of Central Park between open and close, and Hamish will attempt to eclipse the record, currently set at 19 laps. He will be aiming to run at least 20 laps (123 miles, or 200kms) in one day. We are inviting people to support Hamish, raise awareness, and encourage fundraising for PAM Foundation for Arthur’s birthday.
More details can be found on the PAM Foundation website: https://www.pamfoundation.org/en/loop
And if you are planning on joining on the day, please refer to the website or PAM Foundation’s social media for updates on the day (https://www.facebook.com/pamfoundation.org, https://www.instagram.com/pam.foundation/).
St Anne’s College has been collaborating, alongside the Department for Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics at the University of Oxford, with the Pranaiya and Arthur Magoffin Foundation (“PAM Foundation”) to research postpartum depression (“PPD”) and other perinatal mental health illnesses since 2023.
