St Anne’s Professorial Fellow and Statutory Chair in Materials Science, Saiful Islam, was invited to take part in the “Compendium of Reason” charity event at the Royal Albert Hall in November 2022. The event, hosted by Brian Cox and Robin Ince, featured guests from the worlds of science, music and comedy. Professor Islam was invited to deliver a talk on how he regained his world record for the most powerful lemon powered battery. You can read more about the event here.
Professor Islam was also asked to provide one of the ten science stories of 2022 for The Guardian. He chose the Physics Nobel Prize in quantum information, with his story being number 8 at the link here.
