Marcelo Lachat holds a BA in Languages and Literatures from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, Brazil), and an MA and a PhD in Portuguese Literature from the University of São Paulo (USP, Brazil). He was also a visiting researcher at the University of Lisbon (Portugal) and Sorbonne Nouvelle University (France)
