Alex is a mathematical biologist, having completed a PhD in applied mathematics at the Queensland University of Technology in 2021. Following a brief postdoctoral and lecturing position at the same institution, he joined the Mathematical Institute at Oxford as a Hooke Research Fellow in 2022. An interdisciplinary researcher with both theoretical and wet-lab experience, he applies techniques from mathematics, statistics, and experimental science to draw insight into biological phenomena.
Currently, Alex’s research is focussed on theoretical models that explain the emergence of heterogeneity and variability in cell populations.
Publications
